One room. One board. Your people.
01 / The idea
A private room, not another platform.
Word Hearth starts immediately for solo play. Friends can join later through the room link, pick a name and take a seat. There is no account flow, public lobby, ranking system or chat to get in the way.
The room is the product: a shared board, clear turns and enough time to argue about whether a word should count.
02 / Under the board
The server owns the truth.
A Colyseus server owns the bag, board, turns, timer, scores, validation and private racks. Browsers send intentions, never trusted scores or final board state.
That keeps every player on the same game and makes reconnecting safe. A short recovery window gives a dropped browser its seat back without exposing anyone else’s tiles.
03 / Built to play
Phone, laptop or the same couch.
The oversized board pans and zooms. Tiles work with pointer or tap placement. Players can plan locally between turns, inspect definitions, choose blanks accessibly and finish a complete game on a phone screen.
